CANON PERSONALITY:

I refuse! If I was in a display case forever, I would suffocate, so, you see.. ♪ ....So, I will go on living and breathing in this world in a human like way! From here on out, I will be with a smile! ♪

Nazuna Nito wants to be your big brother.

That's the easiest way to start out a personality section for a kid who is way more than he seems. Caring, kind and affectionate, Nazuna is an upperclassman in Yumenosaki High School, and he takes on that responsibility with a lot of pride. Described as a friendly face with a fighting spirit that 'never backs down', Nazuna considers himself everybody's big brother and goes out of his way to make people feel warm, comfortable and invited in Yumenosaki the best he can.

This especially shows itself in the formation of Ra*bits. As a third year, Nazuna is in charge of three 1st years who were a weak fledgling unit. Nazuna became their fourth member after some fuss (more on that later), and he took on the role with aplomb. He loves Mitsuru, Tomoya and Hajime--Nazuna fusses over them constantly, worries over their success and does his best to take care of them at all times. They call him "nii-chan" because he does really act like their big brother...though in reality, it feels a little more like their mom. Nazuna supports the members of Ra*bits in every way possible, from patching up scratches to chasing them across fields to teaching them dancing to crying over their successes. Nazuna calls the members of Ra*bits the "angels who saved him when he had no purpose", and it seems like he's constantly trying to give back.

At his core, Nazuna is a people pleaser. He lives for his connections with others (and makes many of them, despite his thoughts otherwise)--he says in an event that he's excellent at "fully carrying out the role he's given." That's definitely true, as he tries his best to mold and shape himself to be whatever someone else might need to be, which takes away some of his own sense of self. Nazuna tends to minimize himself in various situations, and part of that is a sense of conditioning from who he was in the years before the 'player' joins Yumenosaki.

Before the player joins Yumenosaki, Nazuna was a member of the unit Valkyrie, along with Kagehira Mika and Shu Itsuki. He was picked because Shu, the leader of the Unit, immediately took a fascination with Nazuna and considered him to be the picture of perfection and beauty. As a first year, Nazuna's voice hadn't quite changed yet, and his angelic, choir boy voice made him an easy choice for Valkyrie's aesthetic, but as he got older, of course, his voice changed.

During his time in Valkyrie, Nazuna was instructed to act as a doll. Shu dressed him, fed him, and wouldn't allow him to speak--and Nazuna was totally okay with that. As he said in his thoughts, "It may be the happiness of a slave, but I'm happy." He wanted to feel wanted, and Shu made sure he never wanted for that, as did Mika.

Nazuna's membership in Valkyrie had a major impact on his personality. We see that he's willing to throw himself away in order to make other people happy--Shu and Mika's happiness is incredibly important to him, and though the sacrifice was immense, Nazuna didn't fight Shu at all on it. He still wanted to become a true idol who sang like the other people at Yumenosaki, but only acted on it in private--and in doing so, berated himself for not being as perfect as he used to be. Nazuna's self esteem is very, very low, and during his time as a 'doll', he didn't have any desire to get away from how he was being treated because shu's kindness, twisted as it was, made him feel good. Nazuna putting his self-worth on people continues even after he leaves Valkyrie, and he has his first moment of self-actualization when Rab*its ask him to be their fourth member (...even though they all think he's a girl.)

Valkyrie-era Nazuna also shows up the depth of his care for other folks and the size of his heart. To call his relationship with Shu abusive is not too far off, but Nazuna still deeply cares for both him and Mika, and the welfare of his formal unit. He forgives Shu for the things that he did and frequently supports the two of them, even offering to wear Valkyrie's uniform one last time to keep them all afloat in an idol fest. (Mika gets very upset and tells Nazuna he doesn't deserve to wear it for abandoning them, and it clearly effects Nazuna, very badly.)

Nazuna calls Ra*bits his "reason for living". He says that they saved him, and honestly, that isn't that deep of a stretch. Though the way he pins himself to other people isn't really very healthy, his relationship with Ra*bits did scores for his personality, as the Nazuna you get to know throughout the game wouldn't exist without them. At his core, he overcame a terrible situation, and now uses his 'voice' as much as possible, because he wasn't allowed to for so long. He's referred to as a lion underneath his rabbit exterior, because he can be fiercely defensive of his people (especially his little chicks) and is known as someone who won't "ever let you take even a step back." By having something to take care of, Nazuna bloomed into the person he is today.

Even still, he says that he's very good at being malleable. Nazuna thinks that he's able to become whatever people want him to be, which is both a blessing and a curse--it allowed him to be a member of Knights Killers when they needed a bad guy the same as it allowed him to become someone's puppet for a few years. He's still trying to learn who he really is, which is why he pins so much of himself on other people. Nazuna refuses to recognize his own strength, and says that it's not that he's becoming strong, but rather that he has to be strong for others--though in reality, that just shows how strong he really has become.

In less deep, Ensemble Stars Pain related personality, Nazuna is a little bit of a tsundere. He gets very easily flustered, and often fumbles his words when he does (perhaps a leftover of not really being allowed to speak for two years.) He's very self conscious of his stutter, and it occasionally gets so bad that he becomes unintelligible, though it's usually just when he gets embarrassed--which, it's really not hard to embarrass him. He hates being treated like a child and being called cute, and will get puffy and grumpy over it, if only because he is a guy. (At least part of this can be attained to Shu treating him as a little doll for so long.) He can be a little too motherly, in that he definitely scolds his bunnies a little too much, and sometimes says things without thinking. Nazuna can definitely toe the line between protective big brother and over protective big brother, as he does definitely follow Hajime and the protagonist when they go out together, but he at least recognizes it and doesn't try to actively stalk them...that much. He just cares, a lot, and at his core, that's who Nazuna is. He does his best to see the good in people no matter what they've done to him, forgiving Shu and Eichi alike and doing his best to treat them fairly and kindly in various idol events.

He can also be a little devious and mischievous when the time calls for is, trying to help push his rabbits to the top of the school and helping Subaru and the others when they have their 'rebellion' against the school's idol system.

Overall, more than anything, Nazuna tries hard to be a good big brother figure, and he apologizes when he makes mistakes or upsets any of his little chicks. He's still learning who he is, and Nazuna makes a point to try and be the person he wished he had when he was still a first year--someone everyone can rely on, no matter what kind of situation they're in.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

🐰idol-ing.
Nazuna is an excellent dancer, as described by canon; his movements are 'small and flexible' like a rabbit's. He's flexible and fast, able to run and dance and perform all the duties of an idol. his voice used to be tiny and very angelic, but as he got older and hit puberty, he still maintained his ability to sing despite what some people might have thought.

🐰babysitting leadership.
Nazuna is the leader of Ra*bits. This entails leadership skills, child wrangling, basic sewing, planning routines, writing songs, and various other skills. Mostly, he's just really good at keeping his "chicks" in line. Most of the time.

AU NAME: Nazuna Nito
AU AGE: 21
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES:
Nazun's eyes will be brown instead of pink. Much to his displeasure, he will not be any taller or any different otherwise.

AU HISTORY:

🐰 grew up in a HUGE family, like six little brothers and sisters, several step siblings, is the oldest one and super in contact with all of them still
🐰 loves his family more than ANYTHING, and would do anything for them.

🐰 therefore, to help his family, he was a child star! his face should be fairly recognizable for most of recolle; he starred in several childhood movies (think disney channel)
🐰 was chosen around five to start performing in commercials and continued to do this through his childhood, puberty and almost to adulthood.
🐰 Was always busy with work and rarely had time for anything, including friends

🐰 was always really good at dancing!!! he had a very, very influential dance teacher who made him start learning to dance outside of just his work. it helped bring some of the light back into his job when he started to dislike it.
🐰 classically trained and good in modern and hip hop and basically everything; he's so tiny and flexible he was always excellent at it
🐰 manager encouraged him taking classes and learning more complicated choreography initially but when nazuna started showing more interest in the dance than his work he got Real Mad

🐰 had an extremely controlling manager who basically kept him from doing anything
🐰 controlled what he did, what he said, literally all the time--kept him away from his family, friends, etc
🐰 eventually, his voice started changing and his contracts dropped him but his manager refused to let him go, saying instead he'd be a model and didn't allow him to speak unless it was something the manager chose for him to say. literally at all.
🐰 modeled for a bit before he turned 18 and was able to pull himself out of the contract.

🐰 decided to go to recolle u to try and restart his life. it's a big school, and it's close enough to home he can take care of his family if they need him!
🐰 got a full scholarship to be an RA and is trying to fly under the radar away from his child star background. pls don't recognize him.
🐰 still attends therapy and speech therapy both; he speaks with a lisp and a slur if he gets too emotional, like his body's still getting used to being allowed to talk.
🐰 has since grown A LOT and is now a senior at recolle u!!!
🐰 IS A SENIOR RA HELL YEAH
🐰 he is the mom RA, he will hold your hair back when you puke, he hosts pancake breakfasts every few weeks.......
🐰 he loves his residents SO much and his overall quality of life has increased greatly.

🐰 has a pet rabbit he loves with all of his heart and soul named tsuchin
🐰 who is a bit of a houdini and will sneak into people's rooms and go hopping down the hallway, save nazuna and his illegal pet
🐰 has an interest in radio and broadcasting and djs for the school radio station every now and then under a code name

AU PERSONALITY:
🐰 One of the most major differences from canon is that Nazuna didn't have Shu controlling him for two years of his life. He never wanted to become an idol: in canon, he didn't much either, until Shu influenced him, but he grew to adore it. In Recolle, it's somewhat of the opposite. Being an "idol" (sort of) gave him a strong resentment to that sort of career, in that now he'd pretty much rather jump off a bridge than live a life as a singer/dancer/performer.

However, he did have a controlling manager of a different sort. Nazuna was raised into the life of a child star--he did it because his family needed money, and therefore, he was controlled from a much younger age. Though the speech thing didn't come into play until the last couple years of his contract, he was dealing with what was basically a dance mom from the age of five until he was 18. In Recolle, he's been in therapy for a few years in order to counteract some of the effects of that, but its very much a work in progress.

Nazuna also made the choice to remove himself from that situation. Nazuna had no choice in the disbanding of Valkyrie, and his meeting with Ra*bits was purely by chance--they thought he was a girl, so they recruited him for their unit. Here, we see a Nazuna with more independence and more of a backbone than he really had for the first two years of his time in Yumenosaki. This Nazuna has also spent even longer away from that situation, so he's become fiercely protective of his own independence and position in life.

Nazuna has also never had his Ra*bits kids here, so he fills that void with all of his residents.
